Recent large-scale algal blooms in South Australia have caused devastating losses of marine life. These events don’t happen overnight -they are the result of long-term declines in water quality and ecosystem resilience.
Here in Moreton Bay, we still have time to act.
The Moreton Bay Foundation recently led a major synthesis of scientific knowledge on sediment impacts in the Bay. This work brings together decades of research to clearly show how sediment affects the ecological, social and economic values of Moreton Bay – and where action is needed most.
