TMBF’s Day on the Bay is now firmly established as an annual event with a return to the grounds of the Little Ships Club on Minjerribah on 23 October. Over 220 researchers, donors and friends of Moreton Bay gathered together for a full Program to hear about the Foundation’s work, members’ research in the Bay and the Quandamooka People’s connection to their Land and Sea Country. Some started the day at the Moreton Bay Discovery Centre in Manly which opened early for Day on the Bay guests.
Chef Richard Webb prepared a delicious menu of locally and sustainably sourced seafood while PhD candidate and artist Josh Wilson enthralled the audience with his passion for shorebirds. Quandamooka artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins shared her family’s stories, generous supporters donated raffle items, 13 new Ambassadors were recruited and ten researchers from UQ’s Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science were available share their work in Moreton Bay.
