The Moreton Bay Foundation has lodged a submission on the proposed Moreton Motorsport Park at Beachmere. Our submission focuses on whether the proposal has adequately assessed and managed potential impacts on Moreton Bay’s waterways, wetlands, fish habitat, water quality and wildlife. While the proposed development footprint is located within a previously disturbed area, the site remains connected to King Johns Creek, the Caboolture River floodplain, coastal wetlands and the broader Moreton Bay catchment.
The development is seeking approval through the Ministerial Infrastructure Designation process, which bypasses normal Local Council Planning.
We are calling for stronger, more specific and enforceable safeguards relating to stormwater, contaminants, flooding, wetland hydrology, marine plants, artificial light, noise and long-term environmental monitoring before any approval is granted.
We encourage community members to consider our submission and make their own informed submission to the Queensland Government.
You can read our submission on this page, or you can Download a PDF.
After a request from the Local Member of State Parliament, the Planning Minister has extended the submissions period, which now closes on Thursday 25 June 2026.
