May 2026 – TMBF’s submission to the City of Moreton Bay on the proposed Sandstone Point Resort Expansion recognises the potential benefits of appropriate tourism investment, while calling for a rigorous, transparent and evidence-based assessment of the proposal. Located beside the Pumicestone Passage, the development sits within a highly sensitive coastal landscape with important environmental, scenic, cultural and community values.

TMBF urges Council and relevant agencies to ensure the proposal is assessed in full, with particular attention to cumulative impacts, the potential material alteration of the scenic relationship between the Pumicestone Passage and the Glass House Mountains National Landscape, light pollution and associated ecological impacts, coastal resilience, increased marine activity in the sensitive Conservation Zone of the Moreton Bay Marine Park, and the long-term character of this nationally significant coastal setting.
